Speaking of more hording.. did I mention the sport radiator is here... it is perfect match for the sport shroud I got from Audi during their fire sale few years back.. now they make a perfect couple. :D

So.. some exciting news...
Even though I am still unemployed and had to sell the '84.. I managed to find something that could not be passed up.

Introducing the Aluminium block for my Sport.

This is the WH from the Audi 100 that Audi has thrown in for fun.. only a handful of Ur-q and 100 had those blocks.
They are identical to the works alloy blocks save some of the machining details.
This is the 79.5mm bore, same as Ur-q so plenty of meat and came from a low km car.
Very happy with this addition to the parts stash.
Now, if only the temperatures would rise above freezing I could get some work done on the shell.. can't wait.

That's awesome! Interesting the difference in freeze plug layout between that and the standard 20vt. I assume that this block uses cylinder liners...how thick are they?

Yes, it uses liners and I don't know yet.. I'll be cuddling it plenty when it gets here.

Same block but mine was in a non turbo Audi 100.
This looks like an Ur-q motor.
Where is this one??
Looks like it has a Sport oil pan.

It was from a 5k thunder hawk race car, it is complete with ecu and came directly from Lehmann, after a rebuild, that's what I was told anyway.

Numbers are in

AAN block is 118lbs = 53kg
Alloy block is 59lbs = 27kg
